Buddy Writing

On Friday Rooms 5 and 6 did buddy writing. They had a challenge to write a fairy tale as a group. The children had to first brainstorm all their ideas and then plan what to write. They then started to write their stories. Here are some of the photos. the stories will follow later.

With all the rain that we have been having lately. The class did some writing about the rainy day. This is a gem from Courtney who decided to make hers a poem.

Room 6 Children got a chance to try golf the children that took up this opportunity had a great time and learnt how to swing at the golf ball properly

Animal Enclosure Blocks Challenge

Room 6 children were given the task of working as teams to design an animal enclosure for their blocks challenge the past couple of weeks. Here are their designs with the children explaining what each feature is.

Room 6's Trip to Auckland Zoo

Wow what a fantastic day we had today. We loved the Zoo and saw some fantastic things. Room 6 children are very excited and have a lot of new ideas for their enclosure designs.

Blocks Challenge

I did the blocks challenge today. I built a city with Becky and Karniaye. There is a big Eiffel Tower and a Slide that the cars go down. There is a bit that makes the cars go up down up down.

Welcome to Sarah and Aidan

Welcome to Sarah and Aidan, who have come from Christchurch. They are with us for a couple of weeks before heading back home. We are hoping they have a wonderful time with us in Room 6.

The Butterfly Life Cycle

We have been watching and learning about the life cycle of a butterfly in our classroom. Here are some stories about our caterpillars

What has happened to our Caterpillar????

"Look at our caterpillar... What is happening to it?",  the children asked. The Caterpillar is getting ready to turn into a chrysalis, it has attached itself to the leaf and has formed a J. Hopefully we will get to see the transition.
